What We Need To Play Snakes And Ladders?

We need the snakes and ladders board, dice, and tokens. Definitely, if you are playing on a digital platform there are apps and also you can play it online. In that case, you don't need anything just needs the device. But let me tell you the secret playing physically is more fun than playing on a digital screen.

How To Play Snake And Ladder Step By Step:

Step 1: Follow the Rules

Discuss the rules, rules can differ for different people. People change the rules based on their comfort.

Snake And Ladder Rules:

1) One player has only one token.

2) When your token is in starting point (number 1 box) only if you get "6" or "4" numbers in the dice then you can move or start the game. Otherwise, you will be stuck in the number 1 box until you get "6" or "4" numbers on the dice.

3) You never count the current box, so if you are in box number 3 then you got "2" in the dice. Then you will count 4-5 boxes so will go to box number 6.

4) Go with box number wise so you will get up by 1 to 100.

5) Number "6" in the dice will give you one more extra chance to throw the dice. So you can move your token twice forward. Also if you get a ladder you will get one more extra chance to throw the dice. But if you got the "6" in dice and your token got the ladder then you will get the one dice throw chances instead of two.

6) When you reach the 99 number box only the number "1" on the dice will allow you to win the game (allow to go to 100). So if you are in the 96th box you got "4" in the dice but still, you will reach 99, not 100. Then you have to try to get the number "1" on the dice.

7) One token is captured by another token in the same box and is not considered a defect or anything. So two tokens can be present in the same box.

8) Snakes top and ladders bottom box are considered as the way to go up or down. But the bottom of the snakes and ladder top box is considered nothing, you are simply able to continue your token moving.

9) Make sure you throw the dice by shuffling them otherwise someone can cheat by keeping six or the best number for the situation on the dice all the time.

10) The person who reaches number 100 box 1st is considered as winner. Then the second one reaches the 100 boxes and is considered the second winner so on.

Step 2: Follow the Steps

1) Select one token for every player. Keep all your token in the starting position.

2) If anyone gets "6" or "4" then he can move his token. Don't count the current box, so if you are in box number 3 then you got "2" in the dice. Then you will count 4-5 boxes so will go to box number 6. "6" in the dice and getting a ladder will give you one more chance to throw the dice. But if you got the "6" in dice and your token got the ladder then you will get the one dice throw chances instead of two.

3) If you throw the dice and got the number that moves your token to the ladder's bottom box then you can go up. If you got the snakes top box you will go down. The top of the ladder and bottom of the snakes is considered nothing.

4) Move forward in the number wise like 1-10 then 11-20 so on. Two tokens will be able to stay in the same box.

5) Now with up and downs you have to reach the 99 boxes but for entering the 100th box (winning) you have to get "1" on the dice. Until you got get "1" in the dice you are not able to enter 100 or win the game. So if you are in the 96th box you got "4" in the dice but still, you will reach 99, not 100. Then you have to try to get the number "1" on the dice

6) The 1st person reaching the 100th box is considered as 1st winner then the second person reaches is considered the second winner so on.
