What you need to take along with you:
I wanted to update my Aadhar contact number. So only document was needed was original Aadhaar card. But I guess for major changes in Aadhar card you need more documents. So contact Aadhaar center before visiting, and tell what you want to change, ask about required documents.
Best place to update Aadhar card in Mumbai:

What Is The Process Of Aadhar Update:
1) Visit Aadhar update center along with required documents. You can also do update of Aadhar card online with registered mobile number and internet connection. [Learn How to Update Aadhar Card Online]
2) After visiting Aadhar center you will get one page form which you need to fill. In this form you has to fill detais like Aadhar number, name, address, date of birth etc.
3) Now along with form you needs to meet Aadhar executive. He will take your eyes scanning and capture your photo. So this is important that person needs to present whose Aadhar card has to be updated.
4) Then Aadhar executive will ask for confirmation of changes. Make sure you verify changes carefully.
5) Now Aadhar update charges needs to be given. For my update of registered mobile number they charge 50 rupees. I guess charges will be increase for major changes.
6) You will get one print out which confirm that you updated your Aadhar card. Yes you are done:)
How Much Time It Takes For Aadhaar Updation:
For my Aadhar registered mobile number update it tool only 1-2 days. But Aadar center executive said updation will take upto one week.
How To Check Aadhar Update Status Online
1) For check your Aadhar update status visit this Website. Now write 14 digit Enter Enrolment ID (EID) number which you get in your Aadhar card update confirmation printout.

2) Write this 14 digit in website as shown in image. Then write captch text and click "Check Status".
3) Now you will the following messages as per image. If status said your "Aadhaar is Generated" that means you changes are updated. If you get status as "Aadhaar is in process" means your Aadhaar changes are not done yet.
